Cutie Skull
I have so much fun with this stitch. It’s a waistcoat stitch that imitates knit, it is perfect for working images into your work. The band can be done several different ways, this one was a HDC in 9 rows working in BLO on rows. I make the band as wide and as long as I want it and stitch together to make a solid band, the first row of the hat is done with a SC increasing every 3rd stitch. Then I go into the waistcoat stitch for the rest of the hat. I image search 8-bit images or alpha patterns to find fun patterns I’d like to try. It’s best to keep it simple and stick to no more than 3 or 4 colors. Some people use bobbins in these patterns for the colors they need but I go row by row and carry all the colors I’ll use on each row along the back of my stitches to keep it looking neat. There will be a lot of ends to weave in so I like to do those as I go so it’s not such a mess while I’m working. There are many patterns found on raverly.com if you want to follow a pattern for this. This hat is available in my Etsy shop you can find the link of my site menu. I used Hobbii Amigo XL acrylic yarn for this hat.
